We are a local family owned business on the outskirts of Whitehaven and have been operating a waste management company since 2008. With our extensive farming, agricultural, horticultural and environmental knowledge we will help you get the best out of your garden and your renewable fuel needs. The business is owned by Tim and Tracey West and is run alongside our agricultural contracting business T W West Ltd which has been running since 1985.
Initially the business set out recycling garden waste and processing this into a quality compost that we sell to the community. We then expanded into recycling timber and plasterboard and most recently have installed biomass boilers to generate renewable energy. This lead us to where we are today producing woods fuels for commercial and domestic users. You will find us on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) for woodchip and logs which are kiln dried to optimum moisture content.
Excellent quality softwood (so much so convinced me to move from using hardwood). Brilliant service, nice lads and even better that it’s right on my doorstep. Highly recommend product and service.
Ordered compost for the garden and had it delivered. Really helpful service and advice given on how much we needed to sow grass seed. A year on and we have a garden lawn. Would definitely recommend this company.
I am the CEO and one of the founders of the business. My background is in agriculture with over 30 years’ experience which has complimented this business. I have a keen interest in renewable energy which has taken us on our most recent journey into biomass systems and fuels.
I am an executive director and like my husband Tim, am one of the founders of the business, my skills and experience are in business management which I have used to help drive our family business forward. Cumbria is a beautiful place to live and helping to preserve it is all part of what our business is about.
I came on board as operations manager at the start of the installation of the second biomass boiler in 2016. I am a mechanical engineer with over 30 years’ experience, primarily in the automotive industry…..
I started with the business in 2015 and have developed a very diverse role in the business where I am now studying for a waste management qualification. I have a challenging but interesting role which I fulfil to make the business successful.
I am the most recent recruit in 2017 as the Site and Business Development Manager, I have started at an exciting time and see lots of potential for the business. I am used to managing working sites and enjoy getting out and about and help to make the business grow.
